ALTRA Ramp Guidelines
The lateset version of the ALTRA Ramps Guidelines is avilable for public consideration. These have been derived via an industry wide consultative process. They are designed for use when upgrading existing ramps of when installing new ones.
Sale Saleyard renovations
Work has commenced on the renovations at the Sale saleyards. These include a roof over the cattle selling area and new water management and parking arrangements.

Saleyard Welfare Standards – 90 day public consulation
Dear livestock industry stakeholder,
A 90 day public consultation for the proposed Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines for Livestock at Saleyards and Depots (Saleyard Welfare Standards) as well as the associated Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) commences on 11 September 2014.
On behalf of all Australian state and territory governments, the Project Manager seeks views from interested parties about how the:
- proposed standards will ensure the welfare of livestock at saleyards; and
- associated RIS demonstrates the need for the Saleyard Welfare Standards.
Submissions on the proposed Saleyard Welfare Standards and RIS must be received by Friday 12 December 2014.

Sale Saleyard Renovation Tenders
Tenders are currently advertised for 3 of what will be a total of 5 works packages relating to the refurb of our saleyards. Would be great if you could somehow distribute through any LSAV networks. - Removal of existing pens – closing date 2pm Wednesday 24 September 2014.
